Parent Involvement

We believe that parental engagement leads to student success. Find out how you can get involved in your child’s education.

PTA is primarily a social organisation. The main goal of the PTA is to promote fun and social events. The secondary goal is fundraising. Members organise a number of key events throughout the year, including coffee mornings, parent dinners and the annual ISCT Founders’ Day fair.

Every parent and teacher at ISCT is a member of the PTA. The PTA suggests and delivers projects that benefit ISCT and its wider community.  We ask every parent to help with at least one project a year to ensure it’s success.

The PTA has portfolios for sport, gardening, social outreach, and more.

The purpose of the trust is to provide financial support to underprivileged students to study at ISCT. The trust will give preference to potential students who were previously disadvantaged in South African society.

Support ISCT or your favourite charity without costing you a cent. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is South Africa’s biggest community support programme which raises funds for schools and charities in order to improve education and social development. MySchool allows anyone to raise funds for their favourite school or charity. It really is so easy! Apply for a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card today. It’s free. Swipe your card at retailers across the country every time you shop. The store will donate a percentage of your purchase to ISCT or your selected beneficiary, on your behalf.

The library is a vibrant and central part of our school. Daphne Gengayan, our librarian, is always happy to have parents help with covering books, shelving, labeling or issuing.

Struben House parents have the opportunity to read to their children’s class at story time. There is a sign-up roster outside the classroom.

The Nearly New uniform shop is run by the PTA who are always looking for volunteers to assist them. Please email if you’d like to help—this is a great way of getting to know the other parents at ISCT!

Every class in the Primary School has a parent class representative. Their role ranges from welcoming new parents and classmates to coordinating birthday cards for teachers and end-of-year parties.
