We provide a professional, organised and supportive examination venue for candidates requiring an external Cambridge examination venue.

What Are the Cambridge Exams?
The Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) exams are globally recognised qualifications taken by students in over 160 countries. Cambridge Exam Registration are available here at The International School of Cape Town. These include:
- Cambridge O Level – Designed for students aged 14 to 16, Cambridge O Level is equivalent to the GCSE and follows a structured, exam-based format. It is commonly offered in regions such as Asia and Africa, with syllabuses adapted to suit local educational contexts.
- IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) – Also for students aged 14–16, offering a flexible and global approach.
- Cambridge International AS & A Levels – Advanced qualifications for students aged 16–19, accepted for university entry worldwide.
Cambridge qualifications are recognised by universities and employers around the world, providing students with a strong foundation for further education, career opportunities, and global mobility. As a result, The International School of Cape Town accepts Cambridge Exam Registrations from private and/or external students.

- Subject availability may depend on timetable constraints and practical component requirements.
- Some subjects with speaking or practical components may have limited availability.

Access arrangements update: We no longer accept laptop concessions for private candidates. Extra time applications will only be considred and applied for if required and we receive an Educational Psycologist assessment report that is not older than 4 years.

What you need to register
- Student’s Full Name and Surname (as on ID or passport)
- Date of Birth
- Valid Photo ID (passport or national ID)
- Previous Cambridge Candidate Number (if applicable)
- Subjects & Syllabuses (e.g., IGCSE English – 0500, Mathematics – 0580)
- Special Access Arrangements (if needed – must be submitted early)

Q: Can homeschool candidates register?
A: Yes. Homeschool and private candidates are welcome.
Q: Can I register for only one subject?
A: Yes. Candidates may register for individual subjects.
Q: Can I apply for extra time?
A: Yes, provided the required Educational Psychologist report is submitted before the Cambridge deadline and meets the Cambridge concession requirement.
Q: When will I receive my timetable?
A: Timetables are usually issued after Cambridge final entry processing.
Q: Do you offer practical exams?
A: Some practical subjects may be available depending on facilities and staffing availability.
Q: Can I amend my subjects after registration?
A: Changes made after Cambridge deadlines may incur amendment or late entry fees.
